Great old warhorse Gretsch, well used but solid and almost all original. This is the most prized version of the Country Gent, with the exact specs of George Harrison's guitar. Electrotone body w/ painted f-holes, 2-piece mahogany neck w/ dowel, ebony fretboard w/ zero fret and half moon inlays, double mute levers w/ red felt collars (one missing), Bigsby trem, back pad. The tuners were previously replaced w/ Schallers, and some of the post holes moved. The correct reissue Grover Imperial stair-steps are on there now, and look great. The mutes need new pads (if you care!). The pickups are the original Filtertrons, although the neck pickup has new coils (originals are in the case, as are the original pots). Pickup rings are replaced (one original in the case). Lots of knicks, dings and crazing, and most of the gold has worn off of the hardware, but the finish is all original. The master volume knob is a repro. The binding is in pretty good shape for an old Gretsch--a piece is missing off of the side of the headstock, and it's come away slightly in a spot just inside the treble horn, but it's not loose anywhere. The guitar has just been professionally refretted, the neck reset, and the bridge has been very subtly pinned in place. The tone is classic Gretsch--rockabilly, surf, and of course George. The case is a vintage Guild hardshell case which has been partially recovered.
