1898 Fratelli Tassinari Mandolin

Lovely Neapolitan mandolin in excellent restored condition. 20 staves on the back, spruce top with a couple of fixed cracks, inlaid tortoiseshell pickguard, brazilian rosewood veneered neck. Recent luthier restoration included replacing the fingerboard and frets, work at the rear headstock/neck join w/ an added volute, 3 or 4 fixed top cracks, and several repaired back seams. The Tasmanian blackwood headstock veneer is also a new replacement. New bone nut. Original bridge and bone saddle. No clamshell on the tailpiece. Interior label Fratelli Tassinari, Napoli, 1898. Tassinari, Napoli also embossed into the top. Medium action, lovely tone, great sustain. All in all a beautiful restored piece in good playing condition. Comes with new hardshell case custom-made for this instrument.
