This week’s entry in the Deadhead Corner Tune of the Day is the “Morning Dew” from Madison, WI – June 24, 1983 (Scroll to Track 19 in the archive player). This was a good summer tour for Morning Dew, and the one from Saratoga about a week earlier is a favorite of many heads. I feel this one gets overlooked. In particular, listen to Weir’s excellent guitar work behind Jerry, especially during the final solo break. His arpeggio figures complement Jerry’s playing perfectly and showcase why Bobby’s rhythm guitar was so important to the sound of the Dead.
