1944 Gibson Southern Jumbo in a no reserve auction. This one has a truss rod. Seller says this went back to the Gibson factory in the ’50s (after ’54 judging from the pickguard) for a new pickguard and bridge and there is the possibility that the top was refinished by Gibson at that time. Looking at the pictures our .02 is that is was and Gibson did the refinish. But that’s just us. Seller also says double ring Klusons were added in the ’60s. Seller adds it has a pickguard crack but is otherwise structurally sound. With ’60s case. Nice vibe. Very, very cool.
