Our Tune of the Day for Sunday, February 26 2012 is “Ziggy Stardust” by David Bowie from 1972’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.” Mick Ronson on guitar. This and “Hunky Dory” which preceded it are our favorite Bowie albums. Much that came after was great, but we don’t think Bowie ever sounded better than he did with the Spiders (Ronson, Trevor Bolder on bass and Woody Woodmansey on drums). Ziggy played guitar indeed.
