1939 Gibson L-7 in a no reserve auction. Seller says it was the main stage guitar of Edmund Denney, a blind player from west Kansas who earned some notoriety via longtime affiliation as singer/guitarist with old time radio powerhouse WIBW 580 and the Saturday night Kansas Roundup show. Excellent photos (including one of Denny) and description here. Check them out. Seller states it has an abundance of nicks abrasions and general play wear but no cracks or significant repairs. Seller adds he is not sure if the tuners are original. With original tweed Geib HSC, “whose condition bears witness to having been owned by a person who couldn’t see anything and didn’t care.” We like that. Very, very cool.
