1999 Fender Stratocaster. This guitar was accidentally left in the trunk of a cab in Chicago on June 18th. Everyone’s nightmare. Here is a link to the owner being interviewed by ABC News in Chicago. Below is a description of the guitar from the owner:
1999 Deluxe US strat body with a Japanese squier neck (re-fretted with jumbo frets). Installed graphite saddles and had a wiring job done so middle tone knob is now master tone and the 2nd tone knob was converted into a 3-way chrome switch (regular strat / bridge pickup always on / all pickups wired in series). Also had a resistor job on the volume pot to reduce thin tone at lower volumes. The pickups are Kinman AVn Blues Set. Obviously there’s the “Smokin’ Joe Kubek 2009” signature on that back scratchplate. Tremolo system disabled by the standard block of wood forced into the back of the guitar. No obvious blemishes – it’s in great condition for a well-used 12-year old guitar.
The owner is offering a reward for its return. Let’s help Brian BRING IT ON HOME.
