Stopped by to say hello to Zeke and buy a harp at Matt Umanov Guitars in NYC’s West Village yesterday. Always lots of cool stuff here. Once again we posed the question “What’s the coolest thing in the shop?†This had just arrived the day before. 1945 Gibson Banner LG-2. Without a doubt the nicest example of one of these we have ever seen, or played. This one has a two piece maple neck with a walnut strip running down the middle and a truss rod (big plus). 100% straight up with no cracks breaks or repairs ever. Low action and a dry woody tone with tons of character. Very, very cool.
