1942 Martin D-28

by Luke the Drifter on December 10, 2010

1942 Martin D-28 Herringbone. What can we say? Seller states it belonged to his uncle who bought the guitar new when he was 17. Seller has an appraisal from Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto from this past November. Long and short of this is that the guitar is crack free and the interior is perfectly clean. It was had the bridge shaved down. Fingerboard has been planed and guitar has been refretted at the Martin factory, at which point the top was possibly oversprayed. Links to some great pictures here, beautiful example. Very, VERY cool.
